Dear Faculty, Staff, and Retirees,

As the holiday season approaches, we are delighted to invite you to join us for Loyola University Chicago’s annual Christmas Reception on Thursday, December 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Damen Student Center on the Lake Shore Campus. 

This cherished tradition offers a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community of Ramblers, reconnect with colleagues and friends, and celebrate the joy of the Christmas season.

Guests can look forward to an afternoon filled with festive music, delicious food and beverages, Christmas Bingo, and opportunities to connect with fellow Ramblers. Adult beverages will be available to guests with valid identification, and complimentary rideshare transportation will be offered to those who need a safe ride home after enjoying alcoholic beverages.

To help us prepare for this special celebration, please by November 20, 2026. When registering, you may also reserve complimentary round-trip shuttle transportation or sign up for a volunteer opportunity.

Campus Parking & Inter-Campus Transportation

In partnership with Campus Transportation, complimentary parking will be available in the Main Parking Structure and Fordham Garage at the Lake Shore Campus.

For colleagues traveling from the Water Tower or Health Sciences campuses, complimentary round-trip shuttle service will also be available.

Water Tower Campus

  • Departure: 1:30 p.m. from the Corboy Law Center
  • Return: 4:15 p.m. from the Lake Shore Campus

Health Sciences Campus

  • Departure: 12:30 p.m. from Fifth Avenue, outside the School of Nursing building
  • Return: 4:15 p.m. from the Lake Shore Campus

Share the Holiday Spirit — Volunteer!

A celebration of this size and spirit is made possible through the generosity of our Rambler community. We welcome faculty and staff who would like to help make this year's Christmas Reception a memorable experience for all. If you are interested in volunteering, please consider signing up for a timeslot when completing your RSVP.

Holiday Spirit Contest

Back by popular demand, the University Staff Council will host its annual Holiday Spirit Contest, offering colleagues a fun opportunity to showcase their creativity and festive spirit. Additional contest details are available .

In the spirit of giving, attendees will also have an opportunity to support fellow Ramblers by contributing to the , which provides assistance to employees experiencing unexpected financial hardships.

Holiday Inspired Contests

'Tis the season... get ready for some friendly competition at the 2025 Christmas Reception. The event will include a variety of holiday inspired contests --- think festive cheer and fabulous prizes. Check back soon for details.

Volunteering

In preparation for the upcoming Christmas Reception, there is an opportunity that will allow you to donate some of your time while still celebrating the festivities with fellow Loyolans. Faculty, Staff, and Retirees are encouraged to sign-up to assist with volunteer efforts at the Welcome Tables located at the North and South entrances of the Damen Student Center, provide support during the Bingo games, assist with Shuttle Service and, at the end of the event, help gather materials so Facilities can return the items to Human Â鶹´«Ã½. 

Human Â鶹´«Ã½ is looking for assistance with staffing coverage for a variety of roles on December 17, including:

  • Check-In Table, South Doors
  • Check-In Table, North Doors
  • Bingo (Check-In Table & Caller Table)
  • Water Tower Campus Shuttle Bus Coordinator
  • Health Sciences Campus Shuttle Bus Coordinator
